Tuna N. Amobi is a Director & Senior Industry Analyst for CFRA, a provider of independent investment research and analytics. He is responsible for general oversight of the firm's Consumer sector strategy and recommendations by a team of equity analysts, for hundreds of securities. He also writes periodic industry research reports and makes regular appearances and has been interviewed and widely quoted in the financial press, including Barron's, BBC, Bloomberg, Business Week, CNBC, Dow Jones, Financial Times, BBN and Reuters.
Work History
Mr. Amobi was a member of the Standard & Poor's Analytical Policy Board, which reviews and directs major policy decisions and analytical criteria consistent with the mission of Standard & Poor's Investment Services. As an accounting analyst, he is also a member of the Standard & Poor's Core Earnings Committee, which creates and refines a proprietary analytical framework used to measure the performance of a company's core business.
Prior to joining Standard & Poor's, Mr. Amobi worked as an equity research coverage analyst at Lehman Brothers, New York, where he also used his expertise to offer best investment ideas with the firm's Investment Policy Committee. Earlier in his career, Mr. Amobi was a manager in the assurance and strategy consulting groups in the New York offices of Arthur Andersen & Co., and subsequently, KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP.

Mr. Amobi holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of CPAs, and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Education
Mr. Amobi earned a JD (LL.B.) degree, and a B.Sc. (Accounting), summa cum laude, and received an MBA from the premier University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland. He also holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from University of Nigeria as well as LL.B. (JD). He also holds the Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses.
