Black Billionaires

This is a global list of Black African ancestry billionaires in U.S. dollars.

This list includes people of Black African ancestry who have achieved billionaire status in U.S. dollars. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication and ambition of these individuals, who have been able to break through barriers and achieve success in a world that often makes it hard for Black people to do so. It is also a reminder that anyone can achieve great things regardless of their race or background, if they are willing to put in the effort and never give up on their dreams.

Presently, There Are 22 Recognized Black Billionaires Worldwide Representing 10 Nations

In 2021, we marked the 20th anniversary of Robert L. Johnson and Michael Lee-Chin becoming the first Black individuals to be included in Forbes magazine's annual World's Billionaires ranking in 2001. While Bloomberg currently includes him on their list of billionaires, Forbes does not feature him in their rankings. Mr. Al Amoudi was among the many high-profile Saudis who were detained as part of a significant anti-corruption crackdown led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He was eventually released in January 2019, with no official explanation provided for either his detention or his release.
