Kimberly McGlonn

Kimberly McGlonn, Ph.D., is the founder and CEO of Grant Blvd, a fashion brand that creates stylish clothes from recycled materials and employs women from marginalized backgrounds. She is also the founder of Blk Ivy Thrift, a vintage fashion store that celebrates the legacy of the civil rights movement.

Grant Blvd, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA,  is known for its commitment to ethical and environmentally friendly practices in the fashion industry. Grant Blvd focuses on creating clothing and accessories made from recycled and upcycled materials, promoting fair labor practices, and minimizing its environmental footprint.

Dr. McGlonn's passion for sustainability and social justice stems from her personal experiences. She grew up as a Black girl raised Muslim in Milwaukee, where she witnessed the effects of poverty and discrimination. She became a high school teacher and later a teaching faculty at Drexel University, where she continued to advocate for justice and environmentalism.

Dr. McGlonn's leadership in the fashion industry is driven by her vision of creating positive change for people and the planet. She is also involved in various other initiatives that support diversity, inclusion, and social entrepreneurship. She is the vice president of social impact at Fitler Club, a social club that fosters a culture of belonging and collaboration. She is the CEO of Build It Boldly, a digital community that offers online courses and mentorship for aspiring social entrepreneurs. She is a co-host and co-producer of School for Disrupters, a podcast that features inspiring stories of people who are disrupting the status quo. She also served for 8 years as a councilwoman for the Borough Of Jenkintown, where she served as the police commission chair and liaison to the Jenkintown School District. She served for three years as a board member on the board of The Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia.
