Allan G. Jones

Allan Jones is founding partner of Jones & Jones Productions and is co-founder of the JAMBANA™ One World Festival. He is also a familiar face and voice in the Canadian multi-cultural arts community. 

For over 25 years Allan has maintained active involvement in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry. In May 2011, he was presented with a Media Award of Excellence by the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario, for his contributions to sickle cell disease awareness. As a Health & Wellness Consultant, Allan has worked with the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Diabetes Association and a number of Community Health Centres. He is also a health columnist with Pride Newsmagazine, a leading Caribbean weekly publication. 

As a broadcaster, Allan Jones hosted and produced “The Musical Triangle”, a popular weekly two hour topical Black-focused show, on CKLN Radio (Ryerson University), for 3½ years. For a year, he co-hosted “Grapevine” a talk show on G98.7 FM, and was a Producer and the station’s Medical Specialist. Early 2014 he joined CHRY Radio at York University, and is the host and producer of his weekly talk show, “Allan Bucka Jones LIVE”, heard on Sundays from 3pm to 5pm.

In all his areas of involvement, Allan Bucka Jones incorporates health promotion, with a great emphasis on diseases like prostate cancer, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic diseases. He is a strong advocate for a diversity approach to healthcare in Canada, which reflects the different ethnicities that make up the fabric of our nation.
