Harpo, Inc., was founded in 1986 by Oprah Winfrey to represent her various business interest. Harpo Inc. encompasses the corporate headquarters for the Harpo families of businesses, and includes all service departments, such as Accounting, Human Resources and Technology, that support there various business units. Harpo is most notable for producing the day time talk shows The Oprah Winfrey Show and Dr. Phil.

Harpo Films, Inc. harnesses the power of film to entertain, provoke thought and compel action. As an active supplier of motion pictures, we develop and produce award-winning feature films and long-form television programs, including the "Oprah Winfrey Presents" telefilms for the ABC Television Network. Harpo Radio

Harpo Radio, Inc. brings a message of personal empowerment to a worldwide audience, producing inspirational, unique content for the Oprah & Friends channel (156 on XM Satellite Radio / DirecTV Channel 807).

Harpo Studios

Harpo Studios is home to television?s number one talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. Based in Chicago, Harpo Studios is also home to Emmy Award winning teams in production design, lighting, camera work, editing, audio direction and graphic design.

Oprah Winfrey Operating Foundations

Referred to collectively as The Oprah Winfrey Foundations, three separate philanthropic entities form the core of the gracious charitable work of Oprah Winfrey.

The Oprah Winfrey Foundation is a private foundation that, through grantmaking and direct charitable activities, offers educational opportunities and enhances the quality of life for children and families throughout the world.

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation is a foundation that operates The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls - South Africa.

Television Development Group

Launched on September 13, 2006, the Television Development Group of Harpo Productions, Inc. is committed to using the established platform of The Oprah Winfrey Show to help develop additional projects and talent that extend beyond this individual program.

The Television Development Group spearheads long-term growth by creating new television programming and media opportunities for the company through a variety of formats including syndication, network, cable and digital.

Oprah Store

Located on the south corner of Washington and Carpenter streets, The Oprah Store is the first free-standing retail store for Harpo, Inc.  The Oprah Store is a specialty store offering merchandise that represents the style and taste Oprah celebrates and shares on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and in the pages of O, The Oprah Magazine and O At Home Magazine.

Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN)

The new multi-platform media venture will debut in 2009 in more than 70 million homes, on what is currently the Discovery Health Channel. The venture will also include the award-winning digital platform, Oprah.com.

OWN’s mission is to create multiple platforms for women, men and their families with a purpose and a passion: to celebrate life, to inspire and entertain, empowering viewers around the world to live their best lives, and by doing so, lift the lives of those around them in ever-widening circles.

OWN staff and operations will be based in Los Angeles.
