It is dedicated to Hip Hop culture and is aimed at the twenty four million people between the ages of 19-34, from a range of nationalities, ethnic groups and religions that make-up the  hip-hop community. Their collective spending power is $500 billion annually in the U.S. alone.

Global Grind was founded by Navarrow Wright, former CTO of BET (Black Entertainment Television), Osman Eralp and Richard Slomovitz. With funding from Accel Partners, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm, and Russell Simmons. The site currently receives 144,000 monthly unique visitors.
