Wesley Snipes Beats The Taxman
Wesley Snipes was acquitted of the most serious charges against him on Friday. He was found not guilty on two felony charges of fraud and conspiracy but was convicted on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file a tax return.
Snipes was facing up to 16 years in prison if convicted on all charges, but can now only get up to three years. Snipes and two co-defendants had been indicted in 2006 after Snipes stopped paying his income taxes, NYTimes.com reports.
Snipes had appeared in more than 50 films, earning at least $103 million since 1986 court papers showed.
