Santa Clara University elects David C. Drummond as new trustee

Drummond, Google's vice president of corporate development, earned his bachelor of arts degree in history from Santa Clara before going on to Stanford Law School. Before joining Google, Drummond served as executive vice president of finance and CFO for SmartForce where he helped transform the publicly-traded company into the world's largest e-learning company.

Drummond is among several black executives who have made inroads in the technology sector. As Google general counsel, He has been in the news defending Google's Print Library Project. Under the controversial project, Google is scanning, digitizing and making searchable parts or all of the collections from Stanford University, Harvard University, Oxford University, the University of Michigan and The New York Public Library.
