Rodney J. Reynolds to Acquire American Legacy Magazine
Rodney J. Reynolds' RJR Media Group, LLC, announced today that it will acquire American Legacy Magazine, a national publication devoted to African-American history and culture.
American Legacy, published quarterly, is a joint venture between RJR Communications Inc. and American Heritage, Inc. an affiliate of Forbes, Inc. RJR Media Group was formed to acquire the assets of American Legacy Magazine.
"This is an exciting time for the American Legacy brand. For more than 12 years, we've delivered a quality publication, and provided services to the African-American community teaching black history and culture on an ongoing basis. We will continue American Legacy's commitment to not only educate and inform the African-American reader, but all Americans," says Rodney J. Reynolds, the president of RJR Media Group, and the founder and publisher of American Legacy Magazine.
Other brands include: American Legacy Woman; American Legacy Healthcare Advantage; American Legacy, Jr. and American Legacy TV.
In addition to heading up RJR Media Group, Reynolds will continue in his position as publisher of American Legacy Magazine.

Our 12-year partnership has been extraordinary and I¹m sure we will work with each other on specific projects in the future," Reynolds added.
In 1994 Reynolds and Tim Forbes, currently COO of Forbes Media, LLC, formed a joint venture to publish American Legacy Magazine. A pilot issue was published in 1995, and the magazine launched as a quarterly in 1996 with a circulation of 500,000. In 2001, the magazine expanded its brand to include American Legacy Television, a series of one-hour specials based on the magazine and produced and hosted by television industry icon Tim Reid. American Legacy Television is a partnership between RJR Communications and New Millennium Studios.
Reynolds expects the acquisition to be completed within the next 30 to 60 days.
