Oprah Winfrey Network Inks P&G Ad Deal

Created by BlackEntrepreneurProfiles.com

OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), has inked its first major multiyear advertiser deal with  consumer goods company Procter & Gamble (P&G).

The deal valued at more than $100 million, spans three years and includes ad time and integrating P&G's products into some OWN shows, said a person familiar with the deal.

“This is a terrific partnership, bringing together two powerful brands with a common goal to serve the viewer with meaningful experiences,” Kathleen Kayse, the executive vice president of advertising sales for OWN, said in a statement.

According to the Wall Street Journal, "OWN has been on a charm offensive with Madison Avenue for several months as it has tried to woo ad dollars, and has been seeking long-term partnerships with major advertisers for its launch. Nearly two weeks ago, Ms. Winfrey hosted a presentation for buyers on the network's new shows, including one she plans to host."

OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, is set to launch on January 1, 2011.
