LeBron Re-signs with NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James has agreed to sign a contract extension of up to five years with the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday, the extension is worth as much as $80 million US.

The deal, starts after the end of the 2007-08 season and runs through the 2011-12 season, said agent Leon Rose.

"I look forward to working toward bringing a championship to our great fans and the city of Cleveland," James said.

James, 21, will make $5.8 million next season, the final year on his rookie contract.

LeBron lead the Cavaliers into the second round in his first playoff appearance and became the fourth player in history to average at least 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists, joining Oscar Robertson, Jerry West and Michael Jordan. He was also named the youngest all-star game MVP in history. The Cavaliers had not made the playoffs since 1998.
