Jermaine Dupri opens restaurant

Jermaine Dupri, multi-million-selling producer, owner of So So Def label and president of urban music for Virgin Records, announces the grand opening of his first restaurant, Café Dupri, in Atlanta, GA.

Dupri, who was recently named as ASCAP's Songwriter of the Year for the 5th time, as well as receiving their prestigious "Golden Note Award," said, "I am proud to be a part of the Atlanta community and am excited to be opening Café Dupri in the place I call home. Café Dupri has an innovative, high-quality menu that’s also healthy, and of course, have a little So So Def flair."

The newly built Café is 2200 square feet and has 39 employees. It seats 105 guests and will serve a diverse menu of nutritious choices that includes, low carb options with a southern flavour. Dupri hopes to expand Café Dupri into a franchise with locations in New York, Japan and elsewhere.

Dupri became an owner in May 2004 of 3 Vodka Distilling Co., a Chicago-based business. 3 Vodka is the only vodka in the world made from soy and Dupri has been using his knowledge of hip-hop culture and the music industry to help increase 3 Vodka's international profile.
