Irv Gotti Returns

Created by BlackEntrepreneurProfiles.com

Irving "Gotti" Lorenzo the founder of Murder Inc., is expected to sign a new deal this week with Universal Music Group, the world’s biggest music corporation.

The deal would make him the chief of a new profit-sharing venture with the company’s Universal/Motown label. According to the New York Times, Universal will advance Gotti $10 million against future profits and payments to cover overhead. The deal also includes a provision which could allow him to eventually purchase Murder Inc.'s master recordings.

“It feels exhilarating,” Gotti said in an interview. “It’s like a rebirth. It feels like God put me through hell, showed me a lot of things, showed me who the good people and bad people are around me, and lined me up to do what I’m put here to do.”

Murder Inc. roster includes Ja Rule and singer Ashanti, and Gotti is in talks to sign pop-oriented singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton.

Gotti was accused of laundering money for convicted drug kingpin Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, but was acquitted of all charges after a highly publicized trial.
