Five qualities entrepreneurs need to succeed
So you want to be your own boss. Do you have the necessary skills that are required to achieve success? There are certain traits and attitudes that make some people more suited to running a successful small business than others.
What are these traits and attitudes you might ask? They are initiative, competitiveness, Persistence, a strong desire to achieve and self-confidence.
Think of any successful entrepreneur you know and try to compare them to these traits and attitudes. Lets look at Sean Combs for example. Do you see these traits and attitudes in him.
Initiative - Having initiative means having the determination to begin and to follow through energetically with your plans. You must be a self starter. There will be no one looking over your shoulder to make sure you make it to work each day. You must push yourself to find clients and complete jobs on time.
Self-confidence - You must believe in yourself and your ideas. Others will not be as supportive to you as you would like them to be. It takes a while for people around you to see your vision. You must have the confidence to keep going.
Competitiveness - Life is a competition and only the strongest will make it to the top. You must be willing to compete for your clients.
Persistence - There will be obstacles on your path to achieving your goals. When they appear and when are force to reassess your goals you have to persist with your ideas, persist with your hard work and keep focused on success. Only with patience and persistence will you achieve your desired results.
Desire - To succeed you must really want it. Nothing will be given to you, so you must have the desire to work hard to achieve success. Your desire for personal fulfillment and professional success is your biggest strength.
