Diddy Settles Limo Driver Lawsuit

Created by BlackEntrepreneurProfiles.com

Sean "Diddy" Combs has reached a settlement with a man who claimed he was assaulted by Combs' bodyguards after a concert in 1995.

In 2002, Lemon won a default judgment against Combs for over $2 million, because Combs never appeared in court to answer the allegations. That amount was reduced to $450,000 in 2003 until a judge over turned the decision in June of 2004.

Neither party would comment about the terms of the confidential settlement after a hearing in For-syth Superior Court.

"We amicably settled, and that's all we can say," said Herman Steph-ens, Lemon's attorney. "We're happy to get it over with."

Combs' attorneys had planned to start a hearing for a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on Monday morning.

Limousine driver Cedrick Bobby Lemon said he was credentialed to be in a backstage area of the Joel Coliseum during a Mary J. Blige concert in June of 1995.

Lemon said he had an ID badge that allowed him to remain in the backstage area of the concert when people were asked to clear the area when a melee ensued during the show.

Lemon claims he was punched in the head, back and suffered a broken right wrist and lost his job because of the incident causing him financially strain for money as a result of the assault.

Details of the settlement were not released to the public.
