Cheapest Place to Buy an iPod

One of Australia's biggest banks, the Commonwealth Bank, has used the latest version of Apple's iPod nano music player to compare global currencies and purchasing power in 26 countries.

The 26 country survey using the 2GB iPod nano priced in U.S. dollars, found Brazilians paid the most, US $327.71 for an iPod.

While Canada, was the cheapest place to buy an iPod nano, at US $144.20. The U.S. ranked fourth cheapest at $149.

China where most iPod’s are manufacture ranked 15th with the nano priced at US $179.84.

"Interestingly, especially with freight costs close to zero, China is middle ranked in terms of global prices at US$179.84," Craig James, the Chief Equities Economist at Commonwealth Bank, told Reuters.
