• Registered Social Worker, York Region District School Board

  Ms. Samuels provides clinical consultation, assessment, and brief counselling related to student mental health and well-being, while working collaboratively with parent/guardian(s), school staff and community partners. She helps with identifying and supporting the various ways that oppression may be operating and impacting a student’s life and school engagement. Ms. Samuels provides crisis consultation and intervention for student mental health and well-being concerns. She also works in collaboration with school Administration, staff and Police Services in clinically assessing and responding to "Threat Assessment" protocols in schools.

• Social Worker/Psychotherapist, Independently and with various organisations

  Ms. Samuels provided depth-clinical assessments and powerful psychotherapy to a large caseload of clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, ADHD, mental illness and eating disorders. She developed clients treatment plans using a variety of treatment modalities and established therapeutic goals centred around couples therapy, Family conflicts, suicide, addiction, trauma and grief.

• Founder/CEO, Voluptuous Clothing

  As CEO and Founder Ms. Samuels built Voluptuous Inc. to 5 locations in the Greater Toronto Area, before transforming the business to an online only operation. As a former full-figured model for designers such as Brian Bailey and retailers including Sears, Wal-Mart and Zellers, Ms. Samuels knew from firsthand experience on the runway and in photo shoots how uninspiring, conservative and unflattering plus-sized apparel can be. As a child and youth care worker with experience counselling young offenders, she also fully understood the serious consequences of a negative body image.
